Confirming availabilityMotorized outdoor shades
A patio cover handles the midday sun. It does nothing about the low afternoon sun that comes in sideways from the west. Motorized shades drop down from the cover's edge with a remote or wall switch and roll away when you don't need them.

Questions
Motorized Outdoor Shades FAQ
Do motorized shades keep bugs out?
Some systems seal along side tracks to keep insects out when lowered. Ask about tracked systems if bugs are a priority.
What about wind?
Outdoor shades should be raised in high winds. Some systems offer wind sensors that raise the shade automatically.
Do I need an outlet?
Most motors need power at the opening. Solar and battery options exist for some products. We'll confirm what fits your patio.
